Primarily seen in the mountains of High Point, NC near Pilot Mountain, and headed towards Eastern Kentucky, this sauce is a regional speciality that few know about. Sharing the vinegar base with Carolina Red, This sauce uses the abundant supply of Black Molasses that’s found in this part of the state. Also incorporating either Moonshine or Bourbon traditionally, this sauce packs a sweet and smoky punch for the more ‘creative’ barbecue that takes place up in the mountains.
